Its ok to be new let me give you a run down about guns and stuff
1. you have long range weapons: sniper rifles, DMRs I personally love this class because I am more of a woodland player and I don't mind carrying a lot of weight for long distances. If you want this class I suggest a M16 or G3 type of gun. Stay out of the bolt action snipers trust me.
2. Medium range weapons: this class is really the work horse of airsoft you can really be a effective solider in both CQB and Field. Suggest a M4 or G36c for this class
3. CQB or close quarter battle is one the funniest and fast pace types of airsoft games you are light weight, but you lack the range of some AEGs (Automatic Electric Guns) . Suggest a Mp5 or something to that effect.
If you want to know more about brands of guns like Echo 1 or KWA let me know.
