Are there any places in or around Louisville that offer an urban setting to play? I'd like to set up some SWAT style games, but don't know where to host them.

well that is a good question there are some semi-urban style of playing areas, but a strictly urban area no not to my knowledge there is not. We usually go and play at a paintball field for urban style of play.

ASL airsoftlouisville..
is the team / group that plays at asylum all the time..
it is the home field so to speak

asl does have a large website that can easily be found using google.

they tend to host games every 2-3 weeks... check out the site and find more info if you wish to play there.. they prefer you to be registered on the site and sign up for games.. so you can be prepared, much like the site here is set up.

good place to know I have to say. but for urban your best going to Condors Paintball field which has a fake city as one of there fields. They don't allow any other airsofting to play there but SOA since the owner owes me a few favors

I've played paintball up at Asylum. Wasn't all that impressed. The castle would have been neat, but as defenders you were not allowed to leave it. The other field wasn't very big and I would imagine playing airsoft you could shoot each other without having to move forward. I've never made it down to Condors but have always wanted to play their "city". Looks pretty cool.

actually asylum is a great place to play.. it offers much cqb..

and woodland.
half the fun of the castle games IS not being able to leave it...
once the attackers get close... well... it gets harder.. the attackers usually have more lives too..
defending is much harder than attacking...
the city is great.. has lots of cover.. and the bridges are hard to cross unless you organize.... the slums are confined.. and can be quickly over run.... raven faction, the far back part of the field. is a hike to say the least.. especially if you are tasked with carrying something..

and as far as codners goes... they do offer some airsoft play.. but the field fee is much more.. about 2x that of asylum.. and it is generally decided it is not worth the drive / fee... if you are local to there.. it might be more worth while...
but actual indoor fields go.. i hear there might be one opening shortly in ky... check out kyas for more info

trust me I have played there with ASL before he is going to stand out well I will email Asylum to see if SOA can play there. I need to talk to a ASL member to see if its ok for us to play there to (even though they don't own the field its nice to ask them since it is basically there home field.)

asl members said that if any spec ops members would like to play at an asl asylum game.. just register on the asl forum.. and sign up.
make sure you read the rules, and regulations for the field and asl...
if you dont follow them.. well... they really dont let you come back.
its really common sense stuff.. like goggles on.. mags out in the staging area.. barrel bags ($5 at the field) etc etc...

if you want to play there without asl... no one is going to stop you.. all they ask is that you contact kenny,, the field owner.. and let him know.. that you are wanting to play.. and that you are not affiliated with ASL in any way....
that way .. if anything bad should happen... which it most likely will not.. but like in case someone takes off goggles to clear fog (huge no no) and takes a stray round to the eye..... its 'spec ops' not asl... so that way.. asl isnt kicked for not obeying the rules.... that is really all they asked...
